John Hawken

John Hawken is a keyboard player who is best known for being a member of The Nashville Teens (best known for their single Tobacco Road) and he was also a founder member of Renaissance.

John was born in Bournemouth in 1940, and studied classical piano at school, however his love of Rock And Roll took him down another path.

As well as playing with The Nashville Teens and Renaissance, John was also a member of Vinegar Joe and The Strawbs.

John also had a minor movie role in the 1970’s, as a keyboard player in the David Essex movie That’ll be the Day. The band also featured Billy Fury and Keith Moon

In 1979 John moved his family to the USA and continued to tour with The Strawbs, as well as reuniting with other members of Renaissance as Renaissance Illusion.
